Setting up the Sage 50 Integration

To access your users' data from Sage 50, you need to enable the Sage 50 integration in the Platforms Page of the Rutter dashboard.

Sage 50 is a desktop accounting application. The integration uses a desktop connector (ingest) model, where data is pushed from the user's local Sage 50 installation to Rutter rather than fetched directly from a cloud API. No additional developer app setup is required in the Rutter dashboard.

User Authentication with Sage 50

A Rutter Connection is created when your end user authenticates their Sage 50 account via Rutter Link. This in turn allows you to access their account data via the Rutter API.

Because Sage 50 is a desktop application, the connection relies on a desktop connector that runs on the same machine as Sage 50 and pushes data to Rutter. Your end user will need access to the computer running Sage 50 to complete setup and initiate syncs.
