Setting up the Wave Integration

To access your users' data from Wave, you need to enable the Wave integration in the Platforms Page of the Rutter dashboard.

Wave uses OAuth 2.0 with the authorization code flow. Rutter manages the Wave developer application — no additional developer app setup is required on your end.

User Authentication with Wave

A Rutter Connection is created when your end user authenticates their Wave account via Rutter Link. This in turn allows you to access their account data via the Rutter API.

When your end user selects Wave in Rutter Link, they are redirected to Wave's OAuth authorization page at waveapps.com where they log in with their Wave credentials and grant Rutter access. Wave then issues an access token and refresh token, which Rutter uses to make API calls on behalf of the connected Wave business.

No manual credential entry is required — the user simply logs in to their Wave account in their browser and approves the connection.
