Setting up the Deel Integration

To access your users' data from Deel, you need to enable the Deel integration in the Platforms Page of the Rutter dashboard.

Deel does not require any additional developer app setup when using Rutter's default Deel app.

If you prefer to authenticate users through your own Deel app, you need to:

1. Create a developer account (organization) in Deel.
2. Create a new app in Deel.
3. Submit the app to Deel for approval.

Once approved, configure the Deel integration in the Platforms Page with your app's credentials.

User Authentication with Deel

A Rutter Connection is created when your end user authenticates their Deel account via Rutter Link. This in turn allows you to access their account data via the Rutter API.

Deel supports two authentication methods:

Option 1: OAuth (recommended)

The user is redirected to Deel to sign in and authorize the connection. No credentials need to be copied or managed.

Option 2: API key

The user generates an API key in their Deel account and enters it in Rutter Link.
