Setting up the Tally Integration

The Tally integration is available only to customers with an enterprise contract. Because Tally is a desktop application, the integration requires a desktop connector and a guided onboarding process.

Contact the Rutter team to discuss your use case and determine whether your organization qualifies for access to this integration.

User Authentication with Tally

A Rutter Connection is created when your end user authenticates their Tally account via Rutter Link. This in turn allows you to access their account data via the Rutter API.

Because Tally is a desktop application, authentication is completed by the user supplying their Tally company ID in Rutter Link. This company ID identifies the specific Tally company to connect. Once submitted, Rutter issues an inbound access token that the Tally connector uses to push data to Rutter.

Your end user will need access to the computer running Tally to complete setup and initiate syncs.

If approved, the Rutter team will provide detailed onboarding instructions for your end users.
